• Charleston Area Tour Guide — ongoing This project researches the capabilities of modern GPS technologies coordinated with small handheld devices to provide an interactive mapping and information system. The system would be installed on a personal data assistant (PDA) or other small hand-held computer devices capable of receiving and analyzing GPS signals to determine the current position of the user. Based on the current position, the 'Charleston Area Tour Guide' would then be able to plot routes to/from requested locations, map the visitor's journey, show the nearest location of other attractions, and provide information and reviews of all sites mentioned. The 'Charleston Area Tour Guide' would be an invaluable asset to the Charleston Visitor's Bureau and the Charleston area in general. Sample Picture 1 Sample Picture 2
